Ladies Getaway Weekend

This is a two day tour designed for a weekend getaway in Monmouth. Come see the shops and sites of Monmouth -- from Victorian Mansions to lace to Thai imports this little town has it all for the ladies!
 
Your first stop is A Little Cup of Heaven. This delighfull coffee shop is located on South Main Street across the street from the Maple City Restaurant.

This coffee shop is way more than just coffee! They have delicious baked goods and offer a range of sandwhiches and soups for lunch. Even the pickiest eater can find something here.
 
 
2nd stop: Start your shopping with a stop at Exotic in Nature. Exotic in Nature is located across the street from the Rivoli Theatre on South Main Street.

This lovely shop located in the Historic Bowman Colwell building on South Main Street is full of fun and interesting items from the country of Thailand.
 
 
3rd stop: O’Fleeting Time – this shop is located on the corner of South First Street and East First Ave.

O'Fleeting Time is a delightful mix of antiques and new pieces to make any home feel sophisticated.
 
 
4th Stop: Bev’s Flowers and Gifts. This shop is right across the street from O’Fleeting time.

If you are looking for flowers or the right accent for any room in your home this is the place to shop!
 
 
5th Stop: Monmouth Soda Works Restaurant. This one of a kind restaurant is one part gourmet restaurant and one half musuem!

This delightful little restaurant is a must see. If you aren’t quite hungry yet, check out the upstairs where Soda Works owner Janet Gaskil has created a display of early Monmouth, complete with a one room school house.
 
 
6th Stop: Cross the street for a manicure, pedicure or hair cut in an elegant atmosphere at the Salon Company.

The Salon Company has everything you could want. Why not splurge for those highlights you've been wanting or have a relaxing massage.
 
 
7th Stop: Head up Market Alley to A Touch of Country.

If you are looking for the perfect gift you can find it at A Touch of Country. From lace, to teddy bears, to country accents for the home, this shop has it all! Be sure to visit the large display area upstairs!
 
 
8th stop: Visit Cerar’s Barnstormer for a gourmet dinner! Located on West Broadway just before the intersection with highway 67.

Cerars is known in this area for their steaks and elegant ambiance. For any special occasion, Cerars has extra class at an affordable price.
 
 
9th Stop: Stay the night at the Monmouth Inn and Suites. This comfortable hotel is just across the street from the Barnstormer.

Enjoy a good nights sleep and a continental breakfast before starting your 2nd day in Monmouth!
 
 
Day 2 , First Stop: Start out your day with a visit to the Buchanan Center for the Arts. The Buchanan gallery is located on the the Public Square in the South West Quadrant.

The Buchanan Center for the Arts includes a lovely gallery in a historic downtown location-- the exhibits are changed periodically so be sure to come back! The Buchanan Center for the Arts also has a gift shop full of unique items from Monmouth and around the world -- perfect for that hard to buy for friend!
 
 
Day 2, second stop: Visit Maple City Scrapbooking across the square to the East from the Buchanan Center. this shop has all you need to preserve the memories of your weekend in Monmouth!

This delightful shop has all the things a serious scrapbooker needs from paper, stickers, and albums to embellishments!
 
 
2nd Day, 3rd stop: Maple City Candy Company — This shop is way more than sweets! The Maple City Candy Company, located just east of the public square on the corner of East Broadway and South 1st Street, has become an attraction that draws people from miles around.

The candy company has home decorations and gifts to meet any style. Be sure to go upstairs to see two more floors of display space.
 
 
2nd day, 4th stop: Coconuts restaurant in the Maple City Candy Company! Located at the west end of the building this restaurant brings a taste of the tropics and can brighten any day.

Once you have worked up an appetite stop at Monmouth’s own little tropical paradise inside the Maple City Candy Company. This restaurant is so warm and lively it can brighten any day! Or if you aren’t that hungry stop by the sweet shop for some fudge, ice cream or other sweet for a great snack.
 
 
2nd day, 5th stop: Cedar Creek Candles! Located on South 1st street directly south of the Maple City Candy Company.

This small shop is full of charm! Homemade candles with every heavenly aroma possible line the walls in every shape and size to fit your needs. The shop also has country accents to fit your home!
 
 
2nd day, 6th stop: the Pottery Barn located just north of the junction of highway 67 and 34 this shop is a must stop!

The Pottery Barn is the local outlet store for Western Stoneware pottery. For over one hundred years pottery has been created in the Monmouth area. Western Stoneware which turns 100 in 2006 is the oldest still operating pottery in Monmouth.
